One of the forms of entertainment at the festival was tying a brass bell onto a pulley and cranking it up to the monument's tower. The person waiting up there would then ring it.
Our guide told us that everyone has a special Buddha (kind of like a patron saint). Based on Fran's date of birth, her Budhha is the meditating Buddha
